1. 1970- April 29- President Richard Nixon makes the decision to have the U.S. Army invade the eastern nation of Cambodiaas part of the Vietnam War.
May 1st- 4th- Kent State Shootings. They happen after a wild weekend of protests break out in Kent, Ohio after people react to preident Nixons decision to invade Cambodia. Four people are dead and nine more wounded.

2. 1971- May Day Protests- The 1971 May Day Protests were a series of civil disobedience actions in Washington, D.C., in protest against the Vietnam War. This happened over a two week period, beginning on may 1st, and led to many arrests.

3. 1972- Various protests and strikes- over the months of March, April, and May of the year 1972, there was a series of strikes and protests due to rising opposition of the Vietnam War
A. On March 29, 1972, 166 people, many of them seminarians, were arrested in Harrisburg, PA for encircling the Federal Courthouse with a chain, to protest the trial of the Harrisburg Seven
B. On April 19, 1972, in response to renewed escalation of bombing, students at many colleges and universities around the country broke into campus buildings and threatened strikes. The following weekend, protests were held in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and elsewhere
C. On May 13, 1972, protests again spread across the country in response to President Nixon's decision to mine harbors in North Vietnam and renewed bombing of North Vietnam

4. 1973- Case-Church Amendment- On June 4th, 1973, the U.S congress passed the Case-Church Ammendment. This stated that the U.S would have no further intervention with Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. This came just after the Paris Peace Accords were signed as a cease fire back in January of 1973. This made anti-watr protesters very happy and led to the exit of the troops following in the years to come.

5. 1974- Watergate Scandal- The Watergate scandal was a political scandal involving President Richard Nixon that would lead to his resignation on August 9th, 1974.
